BARBARA B. FONVIELLE

Barbara Best Fonvielle, 95, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Goldsboro, Mrs. Fonvielle was born Sept. 15, 1916, to John Lee and Sadie Lou Britt Best.

She was married to the late Lloyd M. Fonvielle.

She was educated in Goldsboro city schools and at Women's College in Greensboro.

She was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church, and in her last few years at The Pines, she enjoyed returning to her home church, St. Paul's United Methodist Church on John Street, only a block from where she grew up.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a. m. at Willow Dale Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Harry officiating.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Fonvielle Vinson and husband, Jim, of Goldsboro; a sister, Bettie Gray Browne of Raleigh; two granddaughters, Anna Vinson of Raleigh and Caroline Vinson Carr and husband, Brad, of Raleigh; two great-grandsons, William and Baker Carr; and seven nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at 809 Park Ave.

Memorials may be sent to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the Salvation Army.
