ADAM CLIFTON CASEY

Adam Clifton Casey, 72, of Princeton died Friday at Johnston Medical Center.

Funeral services will be today, Jan. 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Casey and the Rev. Gene Britt officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.

Born Dec. 26, 1939, he was the son of the late George Daniel and Myrtle Hawley Casey. Mr. Casey was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Caroline Casey Wells; and several brothers and sisters. Mr. Casey was a retiree of Universal Leaf Tobacco Company and was a long time farmer.

He is survived by a son, L. Craig Casey and wife, Martha; daughter, Twyla Casey Wells; former wife and friend, Melva Daughtry Casey; grandson, John Thomas Wells, all of Princeton; brothers, Gilbert Casey and Bobby Casey, both of Smithfield; sister, Eloise Kelly of Georgia.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service. At other times at the home of Twyla Casey Wells, 821 Quarterhorse Road, Princeton.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions can be made in memory of Adam Clifton Casey to the John Thomas and Caroline Casey Wells Scholarship Endowment, a fund initiated by Clifton at the birth of his twin grandchildren, c/o Johnston Community College Foundation, P O Box 2350, Smithfield, 27577.
