Alethea Letchworth Parnell, 75, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Wilson Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Wayne Memorial Park. Mrs. Parnell will lie in state today from 2 until 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the cemetery.
A native of Duplin County, she was the daughter of Paul and Mamie Tadlock Letchworth. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mount Olive.
Alethea is survived by her nephews and nieces, David Bentley Letchworth and wife, Anne, of Calypso, Angela Letchworth of Goldsboro, Johnnie Faye Letchworth Bland and husband, William, of Norfolk, Va., Paula Letchworth Cobb and husband, Michael, of Wilson, Pamela Letchworth of Wilson; her sisters-in-law, Faye Callahan of Waycross, Ga., and Jean Letchworth of Mount Olive and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.K. "Grancy" Parnell.
