PRINCETON -- Mary Virginia Hare Britt, 85, formerly of Mount Olive, passed away Sunday morning at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Britt was born in Wayne County May 10, 1926, to the late Richard and Mattie Williams Hare. She was married to the late Percy James Britt.

Mrs. Britt owned and operated the Burger House in Mount Olive.

She was a member of Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Doug Bartlett officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Diane Hare, 681 Princeton Road, Princeton.

Mrs. Britt is survived by her brothers, Charles Hare and wife, Diane, of Princeton; her sisters, Evelyn Fail of Goldsboro, Ruby Pate of Goldsboro and Clara Lee Nord and husband, Curtis, of Grantham; several nieces and nephews; and special great-niece and nephew, Brooke and Austin Bell.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Hare, Marvin Hare, George Hare and Richard Hare Jr., and her sister, Dorothy McCullen.
