JEAN F. TISKA

KEWANEE, Ill. -- Jean F. Tiska, 84, Kewanee, Ill., died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at her home.

Jean was born June 4, 1927, in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of Pete and Catherine (Marshall) Hayes.

She married Edward Tiska April 7, 1947, in Pittsfield. He preceded her in death in 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bus and Bobby.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph (Julie) Tiska of Greensboro and Stephen (Jani) Tiska of Kewanee; three daughters, Kathy (Jim) Hobbs of Atlanta, Ga., Joanie (Willard) Kennedy of Raleigh and Patty Tiska of Greensboro, nine grandchildren, James, Suzanne, Tiska Ann, Katie, Christine, Melissa, Cami, Nicholas and Jacob; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mary Hayes.

Jean was a member of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church in Kewanee.

She enjoyed antiques, traveling, reading and spending time with friends, family and grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Ill., with Father Jerry Rafalko of Holy Trinity Church officiating. Burial was in Wethersfield Cemetery, Kewanee.

Visitation was from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at the funeral home, where the rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Visitation School Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
