MAE BREWINGTON MARKS

GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Mae Brewington Marks died on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 215 Sleepy Creek Road, Dudley, North Carolina 28333. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Marks was the former owner and operator of Martel's Barbeque Restaurant.
She will be remembered by her daughter, LaRue (Julius) Moore; son, John P. Marks Jr., both of Greensboro, N.C.; granddaughter, Rosalind (Paul) Mitchell of Alpharetta, Ga.; grandsons, John "Tony" (Jamin) Marks, Jason Marks, Julius Moore Jr., Shavonne Moore, and Crista Moore, all of Greensboro, N.C.; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Marks of Atlantic City, N.J., and brother, Leonard Brewington of Dudley, N.C., and a host of family and friends.
Family visitation was held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Hinnant Funeral Home, 512 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Greensboro, N.C.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Hinnant Funeral Home of Greensboro and Dafford Funeral Home, 707 E. Edgerton St., Dunn, N.C. 28334 are assisting the family.
