R. LLOYD WARREN

MOUNT OLIVE -- Ralph Lloyd Warren Sr., 74, of Crest Drive, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive, officiated by Dr. Dennis Draper Jr.

Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service, and at other times at the residence.

Mr. Warren was the son of the late Ralph B. and Eva "Deggie" English Warren. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive, he had been a member of its "Peanut Crew." He served the people of his hometown in many capacities, namely as being town commissioner and having been mayor pro-tempore for several terms, and by his involvement in many area civic clubs and community organizations and projects. In addition, he was employed by the Town of Mount Olive as community development coordinator, becoming public works director, and ultimately, town manager from which he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Farmer Warren of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Ralph Lloyd Warren Jr. and Pauli Warren of Cary; two grandchildren, Benjamin Judson Warren and Eleanor Annabel Warren; a brother and sister-in-law, DuBrutz English "Buzz" Warren and Lou Parrish Warren of Wilmington; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Warren Southerland of Topsail Beach and John Rodney Southerland of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.
