LAGRANGE -- Dell Suggs Wiggins, 82, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. Dell was born Sept. 26, 1929 in Greene County to the late Harry and Maude Murphy Suggs. Dell was the wife of the late James Thurman "Scrubby" Wiggins Sr. and was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dennis Rose; and three siblings, Harry Lee Suggs, Sybil Whitfield and Jewel Howell.

Dell enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and her yard. Her greatest love was her family and she relished her role as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She instilled values and traits in her family that will continue to live on for generations. Dell was a longtime member of Garris Chapel United Methodist Church.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. from Garris Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Dell is survived by her two children, James T. "Jimmy" Wiggins Jr. and wife, Maria of LaGrange, Pamela Wiggins Rose of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Sonya Moody and husband, Jonathan of Rose Hill, Dawn Rogers and husband, Jackie of LaGrange, Amanda Waters and husband, Clifton of Winterville, Scott Wiggins and wife, Jaime of LaGrange, Brent Wiggins and wife, Shanna of LaGrange, Mitchell Wiggins of LaGrange; 15 great-grandchildren, Katlyn Moody, McKenna Moody, Samantha Moody, Drew Rogers, Carson Rogers, Taylin Waters, Anna Jaymes Waters, Mason Wiggins, Tucker Wiggins, Fisher Wiggins, Adler Wiggins, Deanna Spence, Jodi Wiggins, Sophie Wiggins and Zoey Wiggins; sister, Clara Taylor of Kinston; brother, Jake Suggs of LaGrange; and her caregiver, Delores Stallings of LaGrange.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Garris Chapel United Methodist Church Family Life Center and at other times they will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
