Edmond Jasper Brown, 80, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Woodard's Care.

Edmond was born in Wayne County Feb. 28, 1931, to the late Joe Brown and Lorena Chambers Brown.

He was a 1949 graduate of Goldsboro High School and a 1951 graduate of Chowan College in Nashville, Tenn.

Edmond owned and operated Goldsboro Record Printing before his retirement.

He was a longtime member of Jefferson United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.

Edmond served his country in the United States Air Force, and will be remembered as an avid fisherman.

The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Alice Davis and the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Edmond is survived by his wife, Ann Hardee Brown; his son, Eddie Brown; two grandsons, Casey Rockwell Brown and Charlie Grayson Brown; a great-grandson, Steven Tyler Brown; and a brother, Harold G. Brown of Edgewater, Fla.
