Died Sept. 29, 2011
James Lee Hill, 66, of 111 Mallie Drive, Pikeville, departed this life Thursday as peacefully as a summer breeze at the Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hill's funeral will be Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. at the James "Tommy" Haskins Memorial Chapel at Haskins Funeral Home, 601 E. Ash St., with the Rev. Timothy Dortch officiating. His mortal frame will be laid to rest at the Hill Family Cemetery in Faison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James William Hill and Carie Lee Henderson Hill; and his sister, Carolyn Curtis Davidson.
James will be remembered by his son, Jamie Morehead of California; daughter, Angeline Moody of Lumberton; his siblings, Daniel Lewis Hill of Yonkers, N.Y., Evelyn Pulliam Williams of Pikeville, William Garfield Hill of Goldsboro, Doris Ann Hill of Goldsboro, Shirley Diane Johnson of Goldsboro, Edward Hudson of Sumter, S.C., and Abraham Williams of Washington, DC.
Mr. Hill will lie in repose Tuesday from 2 until 7 p.m. at Lander Coe Parlor at the Haskins Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will assemble at 111 Mallie Drive, Pikeville, one hour prior to the service in preparation for the funeral procession.
