William Enos Edwards Sr., 76, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

William was born in Johnston County Aug. 8, 1935, to the late Robert Edwards and Gertrude Toler Edwards.

He was a retired minister for Church of God of Prophecy, and was currently serving as pastor at Church of God of Prophecy in Washington, N.C. William also attended Princeton Church of God of Prophecy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Eugene Hartley officiating. Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery.

William is survived by his wife, Cora Hollowell Edwards; his daughters, Shera Rowe and Phyllis Edwards both of Goldsboro and Debbie Barker of Franklinton; his son, William E. "Bill" Edwards Jr. of Henderson; his sister, Linda Capps of Goldsboro; his brother, Wayne Edwards of Warner Robins, Ga.; his two grandchildren, Tricia Jones and Tabatha Finch; five great-grandchildren; several beloved aunts; and his canine companion, Precious.

The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence at 1682 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro.
