PIKEVILLE -- Ronnie Richardson, 124 Decoy Drive, Pikeville, was born July 1, 1958, to Mary Lois Richardson and the late Earl O.J. Richardson. Ronnie was called to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Ronnie was a 1977 graduate of Goldsboro High School.

Ronnie served his country from October 1978 to July 1985 in the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge.

Ronnie worked as a dry wall finisher for 25 years. He was then employed by AP Exhaust Products at the time of his illness.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Christine Daniels in 1998.

He leaves precious memories with his loving wife, Christine Daniels Richardson of the home; three sons, Monquial Richardson of the home, Octavious Broadhurst of Goldsboro and Quontavious Broadhurst of Rosewood; his mother, Mary Lois Richardson of Goldsboro; two brothers, Gary Gardner of Raleigh and Kelvin Gardner of Goldsboro; a sister, Debbie (Will) Gardner-Hines of Virginia; an aunt, Susan (Elgin) Lewis of Goldsboro; eight uncles, Marshall (Brenda) Wellington of Philadelphia, Pa., Thomas Wellington of Lexington, Ky., and Robert Wellington, George Wellington, Billy Ray Wellington, William Wellington, Elwood Wellington and Michael (Betty) Wellington all of Goldsboro; mother-in-law, Ruby Daniels of Goldsboro; a sister-in-law, Dorothea Richardson; two brothers-in-law, Tom Daniels and Danny Daniels both of Goldsboro; a very special young man, who was like a son, Andrae Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church. After which, Mr. Richardson's earthen vessel, along with his adored family, will be escorted to Wayne Memorial Park for interment rites with military honors.

Mr. Richardson is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where his family is receiving prestigious service.
