Eloise Wright Wiggs, 95, born Dec. 9, 1915, in Princeton, N.C., to William Joseph Wright Jr. and Ida Woodard Wright, died with family and friends June 29, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
Eloise graduated from Princeton High School, and attended Campbell College.
She married William E. Wiggs in 1934, who predeceased her in 1981.
Eloise retired from the Department of Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service with more than 25 years of service.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Michael Coppock and the Rev. Paula Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery, after a brief time of visitation following the service.
Eloise loved her family and friends.
She was devoted to Princeton United Methodist Church.
Affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Weezie," she is survived by daughters, Carol Wiggs Birke and husband, Dennis M. Birke, of Pittsboro, N.C., and Patricia Wiggs Price of Princeton, N.C.; grandchildren, Brian Michael Birke and wife, Elena Khazanova Birke, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Tracy Lauren Birke Carreto of Chapel Hill, N.C., and William Thomas Price and wife, Tammee Price of Princeton, N.C.; and great-grandson, Alex Justin Carreto of Chapel Hill, N.C.
The family will receive friends at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon at Casey Funeral Home, and a brief time immediately following the service.
Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests memorials be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family is being served by Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
