Ralph Edward Sutton Sr., 68, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011, in Raleigh.

Ed was born in Haywood County March 19, 1943, to the late Robert Lee Sutton and Mary Ruth Reinhardt Sutton. He was married to the late Patricia Anne Heeden Sutton.

Ed managed a computer Internet company in Goldsboro for many years called Entersoft.

He served his country in the United States Air Force and the United States Army with three tours during Vietnam.

Ed spent many years serving in his community, and was a member of the Downtown Elks Lodge and past master of Wayne Masonic Lodge No. 112 A.F.&A.M.

For many years, Ed was a color commentator for PACC-10 TV.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S., presiding. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Ed is survived by his son, Eddie Sutton Jr. and his wife, April, of Goldsboro; his daughter, Mary Sutton Nichols and her husband, Gene, of Goldsboro; and his grandchildren, Trey Sutton, Will Sutton, Tripp Nichols and Jake Nichols; his sister, Betty Beaver of Dalton, Ga.; his sister-in-law, Sharon B. Heeden of Goldsboro; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Sutton and Bill Sutton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
