PASTOR WILLIAM THOMAS WILSON

Funeral services for Pastor William Thomas Wilson, "Pastor Bill," are scheduled for Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 12 p.m. at The Lord's Table, 1215 Parkway Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. The burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery, U.S. 117 South. Pastor Franklin Hunt will deliver the eulogy.

Pastor William Thomas Wilson Jr., affectionately known as "Pastor Bill," entered this life Feb. 20, 1948, to William and Rosaline Wilson.

April 25, 2011, at 7:25 a.m., Pastor Bill received his "healed body" from his Heavenly Father.

Pastor Bill loved sharing his testimony about how he used to sleep on the streets of Philadelphia, robbing and stealing to support his drug habit. After being stabbed, shot and left for dead, March 20, 1974, at 11:35 p.m., while sitting in a jail cell, he accepted God as his Lord and savior. March 20, 2011, marked 37 years of Pastor Bill walking with the king of kings and lord of lords, exemplifying the Biblical meaning of a husband, father, friend and pastor.

Pastor Bill believed that caring for and spending time with his family was one of the greatest things he could do for God. Pastor Bill and Mrs. Estine were married Jan. 14, 1978, and became an awesome team in ministry for Christ.

He cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, through fun, food and fellowship.

Pastor Bill also believed in the power of friendship, and treasured the friends God brought into his life. He always looked for any opportunity to share Christ and God's love in practical ways to family and friends, as well as strangers.

After spending approximately 21/2 years in Teen Challenge in Philadelphia, Pa., Pastor Bill traveled as an evangelist throughout the United States and Canada for 22 years, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With Pastor Bill's obedience to Christ, Sept. 9, 1998, the first official meeting was held in reference to starting The Lord's Table Inc.

Sept. 16, 1998, Pastor Bill delivered his first sermon as the senior pastor of The Lord's Table. Under the influence of God and through the leadership of Pastor Bill Wilson, God has blessed The Lord's Table to grow not only numerically, but also spiritually as a body of believers.

Pastor Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Rhavan Briggs, and a brother, Mr. Melvin Wilson.

Pastor William Thomas Wilson Jr. leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Mrs. Estine Wilson; a daughter that he loved with all his heart, Mrs. Erika Wilson-Stevens (Carlton) of Goldsboro, N.C.; three sons that he was so proud of, Mr. William Thomas Wilson III of LaGrange, N.C., and Mr. Sean Wilson and Mr. Erik Wilson both of Philadelphia, Pa.; three grandchildren, C.J., Mia and Will; four sisters; Ms. Lavera Wilson, Ms. Monique Wilson and Ms. Cynthia Wilson all of Willingboro, N.J., and Mrs. Sylvia Morris (Jerry) of Burlington, N.J.; a brother, Mr. Mark Wilson of Willingboro, N.J.; several other nieces, nephews and cousins; and the family of The Lord's Table.

A book signing will be held at The Lord's Table Saturday, April 2, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

All condolences may be sent to The Lord's Table, 1215 Parkway Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., or faxed to 751-8838.

Services are entrusted to Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
