LaGRANGE -- Maria Lewczuk Worthington, 85, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010.
A service of remembrance will be held Monday, June 28, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Maria was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Poland to the late Maciej Lewczuk and Katarzyna Lewczuk. She was wife of the late Edward Alton Worthington Sr. and was preceded in death by a son, Edward Alton "Eddie" Worthington Jr. Maria was a member of LaGrange First Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and working in her yard.
Maria is survived by six daughters, Anna Fraley and husband, Rob, of Greenville, Fla., Ellen Preslik and husband, Don, of Kinston, Carole Taraska and husband, Joe, of Lake Mary, Fla., Linda Hines and husband, Arlynn, of LaGrange, Sharon Warren and husband, Jeff, of Kinston, Barbara Rose and husband, Bill, of Kinston; eight grandchildren, Carla Griffin and husband, Eddie, Kellie Kleinert, Kim Clifton and husband, Paul, Justin Taraska and wife, Gwynne, Tiffany Taraska, Corinne Taraska, Meredith Rose and Tyler Rose; seven great-grandchildren, Joey Griffin, Sarah Griffin, Madison Clifton, Paul Clifton Jr., Jacob Clifton, Kasper Taraska and Sylvia Taraska.
The family will receive friends today from 4 and 6 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
