RICHMOND, Va. -- A memorial service for Dennis Eugene Capps, 63, formerly of Goldsboro, will be held Saturday at Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church in LaGrange at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating
Dennis was in the United States Army, having served in Vietnam, and was the recipient of a purple heart.
He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Hensley; a daughter, Jennifer Wilson of Mocksville; a son, Timothy Capps of Brentwood, Calif.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Bill and Jean Capps of Raleigh and Craig and Debbie Capps of LaGrange; sister, Fran Capps of Williamsburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Linwood Capps.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be directed to Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 138 N. Beston Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551.
