DARLENE BOYERS

March 12, 1936-March 11, 2010

Darlene Warrick Boyers, 73, passed away Thursday after a fulfilling and loving life with her family and friends. She fought a courageous battle with breast cancer for many years.

A memorial service will be held in her memory at Three Chopt Presbyter-ian Church, Richmond Va., Monday at 10 a.m.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved being outdoors, camping, bird watching, and she was an avid reader. She grew up in Goldsboro and began her career in nursing at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence L. Boyers. They were married for 48 years.

Later in life, she returned to school to receive her BS degree from VCU/MCV in Health Care Information Management Administra-tion, and she also held various positions in American Records Management Association (ARMA), while being employed with Christian and Barton. She was an Elder of St. Giles Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Adare Boyers, and Carol Boyers Givens (Thomas); and grandchildren Graham and Anna Givens; and sisters, Marcia Howd, Ruth Ann Marshall and Charlene Monesky.
