Cecil Harold Coor, 73, passed away Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Stevens and the Rev. Steve Caton officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Daly Cemetery with military honors.

Cecil was born in Wayne County April 8, 1936, to the late Aubigne Coor and Hazel Grady Coor.

He had worked for more than 30 years as a mechanic with the Wayne County Schools Bus Garage. Cecil had also worked part-time with Singletons Litter Service.

He was a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church, and had served his country in the United States Army.

Cecil is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Mattie Evans Coor; his sons, Douglas Coor and wife, Barbara Jo, of Goldsboro, Danny Coor and friend, Glenda Potter, of Goldsboro and Dwayne Coor and wife, Cindy, of Mount Olive; his sister, Polly Grady of Goldsboro; his brother, Gene Coor of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Joey Coor and wife, Jennifer, Casey Coor, Jordan Coor, Allen Coor and Rebecca Coor; one great-grandchild, Kyler Coor; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Durwood Grady.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to St. John Free Will Baptist Church, 1926 south N.C. 111, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home, 284 St. John Church Road in Goldsboro.
