Raymond Edward Jones, 50, died Friday at University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with Pastor Henry Gray officiating. The family will remain afterward to greet friends at the church. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Providence Church Cemetery.
Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Raymond Z. and Vernita Howell Jones. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Melissa Turner Jones; a son, Raymond Edward Jones Jr.; a daughter, Heather Collins; a sister, Connie Jones; three brothers, Randy Jones, Timmy Jones and wife, Kay, Bobby Jones; and one grandchild, Jayce Collins.
