Eleanor Gurley Overman, 80, passed away Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate her life will be 7 p.m. Monday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Reynolds Smith and Pat Gurley officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late William and Annie Taylor Gurley. Mrs. Overman was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Overman is survived by her husband, James Noah Overman; daughter, Anna Maxine Fortson of Cantonment, Fla.; son, James Anthony "Andy" Overman of Goldsboro; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and two brothers.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home, 3017 Hwy. 13 N., Goldsboro.
