RALPH M. GARRIS
Died Nov. 12, 2009
LAGRANGE -- Ralph McKinley Garris, 82, 490 N. Beston Road, died Thursday.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Garris was born in Wayne County to the late Fletcher Parker Garris and Mertie Garris.
He was a member of Beston United Methodist Church.
Mr. Garris is survived by Christine Garris, the mother of his children; his daughters, Gail Edmondson and husband, Cooper, of Goldsboro and Crystal Jones of Cary; his grandchildren, Ty Edmondson and wife, Kimberly, Scott Edmondson and wife, Anne, Kris Edmondson and wife, Katy, Derrick Jones, Travis Jones and Kyle Jones, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Luna G. Lane, Bessie G. Coker, Ruby G. Ward, Inez G. Butts and Beatrice G. Barfield, and a brother, Wesley Garris.
Although flowers are welcome, contributions can be made to Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 138 N. Beston Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551, or Beston United Methodist Church, 2360 New Hope Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service and at other times at the home of Gail and Cooper Edmondson, 125 Fairmax Road in Goldsboro.
