BETTY JO BETTS (TEAL)

Betty Jo Betts (Teal), 89, of Snow Hill, formerly of Vinton, Iowa and Lebanon and Middletown, Ohio, and Waynesville, Ill., died Thursday, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The memorial service is pending.

Betty was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Waynesville, Ill., the daughter of Joseph M. and Florence Miller Teal. She was a graduate of Clinton, Ill., high school class of 1939. She married Kenneth Betts on June 26, 1958.

She enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting, needlepoint, gourmet cooking, and reading. She was quick with her wit and was a master storyteller. She was a member of Eastern Star Myrtle Chapter No. 151 in Clinton, Ill.

Surviving are her two daughters, Kim "Tweety" Robu of Vinton, Iowa, and Jacqueline Hardison of Snow Hill; two sisters, Helen Harwood Burleson of Texas and Dorthy Anderson of Good Hope, Ill.; four grandchildren, Beth Muncie and Darron Muncie, Middletown, Ohio, Monique Gualito and Karalyn Hardison of Snow Hill; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 18, 1988, in Ohio; one daughter, Harriette Sue Sprague Muncie, on May 7, 2005, in Ohio; one brother; and two sisters.
