WARSAW -- James Norwood West Jr., 85, 276 C.A. Godbold Road, died Monday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at Warsaw United Methodist Church Thursday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bob Hagerty officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. West was retired from James Sprunt Community College where he was an auto mechanics instructor.

He was a long-time member of Warsaw United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Anna Elizabeth West of Warsaw and Tanga W. and Bill Lee "Chip" Radford of Raleigh; a son, James N. "Jimmy" West III of Warsaw; grandchildren, Dennis Lee Graha Jr. of Kenansville, Heather Christine Radford of Baltimore, Md., and Cameron Lee Radford of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Scarlet Rose Graham; three brothers, Walter P. West, Ronald B. West and Jerry L West all of Warsaw; two sisters, Helen Whitehurst of Greenville and Ann Houston of Kinston; a former son-in-law, Dennis Lee Graham Sr. of Kenansville; and a former daughter-in-law, Melissa West of Wallace.

Mr. West was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Godbold West; a grandson, Jeremy Brandon Graham; and his parents, James Norwood West and Anna Pollock West.

Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Warsaw United Methodist Church, and at other times at the home of Anna West, 319 Johnson Church Road, Warsaw.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to Operation Christmas Child, c/o Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC, 28607.
