KENNETH W. PARRISH

SELMA -- Kenneth Wayne Parrish, 59, Old Batten Road near Selma, died Friday.

A memorial service will be held tonight at 6 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the Rev. Tim Stevens officiating.

Born in Wilson County April 7, 1950, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Drucie Howell Parrish.

Kenneth was a United States Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Earp Parrish; daughter, Tammy Hester of Fremont; stepsons, Bobby Joyner of Fremont, Billy Joyner of Pikeville and Rex Pilkington of Clinton; brothers, Donald Parrish and Randy Parrish both of Fremont; two grandchildren, Brandon Hester and Jacob Hester; five stepgrandchildren, Bethany Pilkington, Dillon Pilkington, Jimmie Joyner, Colby Joyner and Katie Joyner; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph Stephen Parrish.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Eastern North Carolina Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, NC, 27605.
