DUDLEY -- Margaret Hilda Daughtry Peedin, 84, U.S. 13 South, passed away Sunday at Sutton's Retirement Center.

A funeral service will be held at 7 tonight at Providence United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Brown officiating. Committal services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the church cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late James Floyd and Malissie Woodard Daughtry and the wife of Rudolph Peedin.

Hilda was a member of the Wesley Sunday school class at Providence United Methodist Church and worked as the church secretary for eight years and also worked with her husband at Neuse Tractor Company for more than 10 years.

Mrs. Peedin is survived by her son, Rudy Peedin and wife, Debbie, of Dudley; four grandchildren, Karen Stroud, Wesley Peedin and wife, Beverley, Laura Peedin and Melissa Farmer and husband, Brett; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, James F. Daughtry and wife, Christine, of Asheboro; a sister, Joyce Capps and husband, Cecil, of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, a daughter, Connie Peedin Strickland, and a brother, Harold Daughtry, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service tonight.
