James Kater Alexander "Diddy," 77, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. John Hill officiating.

He was born in Duplin County to the late James and Rovenia Potter Alexander, and was the husband of Hilda Alexander.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Alexander is survived by his son, James Russell Alexander "Rusty" and wife, Candy, of Seven Springs; four grandchildren, James Paul Alexander "J.P." of Seven Springs, Patrick Heath Alexander and wife, Dana, of Wendell, and Heather Renee Crowder of Zebulon and Brandon Carter of Raeford; four great-grandchildren, Dylon, Haylee and Hayden Alexander and Garrett Crowder; and special companions, Little Man and Baby Girl.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Bobbie Alexander.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
