EMERSON E. MOORE

June 9, 1921-April 30, 2009

Emerson Earl Moore, 87, 309 Holland Hill Dr., died Thursday morning at his residence.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Born in Greene County, he was the son of the late Thomas Franklin and Ella Stocks Moore and husband of the late Dorothy Elizabeth Hall Moore.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in World War II. He retired from Goldsboro Fire Department after 30 years of service and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mr. Moore is survived by his son, Wesley Moore of Sterling, Va.; and two grandchildren, Thomas Moore and Hannah Moore, both of Sterling.
