ALEX A. "RED" GRAY

March 13, 1929-April 29, 2009

RAEFORD -- Alex Alvin "Red" Gray, 80, 265 Rockfish Road, died Wednesday.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Raeford Cemetery, directed by Crumpler Funeral Home.

Mr. Gray was born in Wayne County March 13, 1929, to the late Albert L. Gray and Ida Best Gray.

Red was the former owner and operator of Red's Tire.

He is survived by two sons, Mike Gray and wife, Kim, of Raeford and Tony Gray and wife, Pat, of Lumber Bridge; two daughters, Pat Gray Sanders and husband, Don, of Arkansas and Barry Gray of Florida; a sister, Myrtie Gray Sauls and husband, Billy, of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

His brothers, Albert Jr. Gray and Jim Gray, and sister, Margaret Newsome, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mike and Kim Gray, 255 Rockfish Road in Raeford.
