Earl Charlie Edwards, 87, 311 Genoa Road, Dudley, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
He was the son of the late Alice and Ezra Edwards and was the husband of Hilda V. Edwards. Mr. Edwards was the owner and operator of Edwards Grocery Store.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Edwards is survived by a daughter, Gail Holland and husband, Henry, of Lenoir; two sons, Johnny E. Edwards of Goldsboro and Douglas Edwards of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Stacy Drummond and husband, Matt, of Fremont, Gary Edwards and wife, Linda, of New Bern, and Adam Holland and wife, Janet, of Lenoir; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a grandson, Hank Holland.
