Goldsboro rallies past Beddingfield

Junior Brody Morton had a triple and four RBI as Goldsboro High rallied to turn back Beddingfield, 8-7, on Wednesday.

Natorian Nobles earned the win for GHS, which moved to 3-1 on the season.

The Cougars trailed 7-1 after three frames, but scored three in their half of the fourth and four an inning later to produce the margin of victory.

Josh Hartsfield, who relieved Nobles and earned the save, rapped a pair of base hits.

Junior Brody Morton also enjoyed a fine outing at the plate, finishing the contest with two hits and four RBI.

Austin Ruiz contributed a double and an RBI, while Matthew Lewis, Cameron Roux and Trey Adams provided one hit apiece.

Goldsboro next sees the diamond on Friday, when it hosts James Kenan.

C.B. Aycock 13,

New Bern 6

PIKEVILLE -- Tyler Daniels went 3 for 4 with four RBI as Charles B. Aycock turned back New Bern, 13-6, on Wednesday.

Nick Aycock also factored prominently for the hosts, going 2 for 4 with four RBI.Blake Dilda finished 2 of 4 with a triple, while Blake Gipson went 2 of 4 with a pair of RBI.

Carson Smitherman rounded out the offensive shellacking with a double, a triple and two RBI.

Senior Jordan Gay earned the win in relief for CBA (6-0), which travels to face ECC 3A rival J.H. Rose on Friday.

Spring Creek 0

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek managed just one hit in Wednesday's setback to Midway. The Gators (2-2) next see the diamond on Friday at East Duplin.

Princeton thumps Union, 9-0

ROSE HILL --  Princeton got goals from eight different players on Wednesday to outpace Carolina 1A foe Union.

Barton College commit Allie Britt scored twice for the Bulldogs (3-0), who launched a staggering 31 shots on goal.

Freshman Ruthie Hester brokered two goals for Princeton, which next sees the pitch today at Neuse Charter.
