Softball

PIKEVILLE -- Marie Kidd scattered six hits and recorded three strikeouts, senior Cassandra Lassiter went 2 for 4 with a 3-run home run and four RBI, and Charles B. Aycock waltzed past D.H. Conley, 13-9, on Thursday.

The victory moved the Golden Falcons to 6-1 overall, and 3-0 in ECC 3A play.

Taylor Puetz also performed ably at the plate, finishing 2 for 4 with a 3-run home run of her own. Abbey Thomas completed the impromptu derby, also going 2 for 4 with a 3-run home run.

Hannah Vinson went 2 for 3 with an RBI, while Abigail Lancaster finished 3 for 4 at the plate. Makayla Williams went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

CBA plays host to league and county rival Eastern Wayne this afternoon in Pikeville. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Soccer

Spring Creek 7,

Wallace-Rose Hill 0

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Mirna Santiago scored a hat trick (three goals), Jordan Lane found the net twice and Spring Creek steamrolled visiting Wallace-Rose Hill, 7-0, on Thursday.

The East Central 2A triumph moved the Lady Gators to 6-1 overall this season, and 2-1 in league play.

Freshman forward Leslie Reyes and Madison Sullivan also supplied goals for SC, which entertains James Kenan today at 5 p.m.

WRH fell to 1-7 overall with the loss.

Tennis

Eastern Wayne 3

Dylan March tendered another solid outing on Thursday, but it wasn't enough to propel host Eastern Wayne past ECC pillar D.H. Conley.

The 6-3 setback moved EW to 2-5 overall this season, and 2-4 in league play.
