NEWTON GROVE -- Haley Brogden fired a no-hitter inside the pitcher's circle as North Duplin throttled Hobbton, 14-0, on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Wednesday evening.
Brogden recorded 13 strikeouts. Offensively, she belted a home run and ended the night 3-for-3 with three RBI.
Taylor Jones also had three hits, including a double. Brooke Cottle (two RBI), Natalie Ramirez (two RBI) and Mikayla Koch cranked out two hits apiece.
Weather permitting, North Duplin (15-2 overall, 10-1 CC) entertains Spring Creek today. A win assures the Rebels of a share of the regular-season conference championship.
