Princeton's Daughtry throws no-hitter

PRINCETON -- Matt Daughtry tossed a no-hitter as playoff-bound Princeton demolished Lakewood, 12-0, in a five-inning Carolina 1-A Conference affair Wednesday evening.
Daughtry recorded six strikeouts.
Princeton plated two first-inning runs on Hunter Mitchell's RBI double and Tyler Ricks' RBI single. The Bulldogs broke the game open with an eight-run, second-inning outburst.
Tanner Flowers batted 1-for-1.
Weather permitting, Princeton concludes regular-season play today at Rosewood. The winner grabs sole possession of second place in conference play.
