PIKEVILLE -- Bryce Anders hurled a three-hit, six-strikeout shutout as Charles B. Aycock defeated Greene Central, 11-1, in a mercy-rule affair contested at Charles Davis Field on Friday.
Anders permitted one earned and walked one GC hitter.
Joey Hampton emerged as the Golden Falcons' offensive leader with two hits and an RBI. Chandler Matthews (two RBI), Trey Jordan (two RBI) and Chris Tuner (RBI) provided one hit apiece.
Aycock broke the game with a nine-run, third-inning outburst. Jordan cranked out a two-run double, while Matthews connected on an RBI single. The Rams committed four of their five errors during that stretch.
GC's pitching staff also walked nine batters.
"Everybody got in the lineup and it was a good chance to start a different lineup," CBA head coach Charles Davis said. "The kids' attitudes were great."
The Golden Falcons (3-0 overall) are the guests of Rosewood on Tuesday.
