Newsome swats home run, EW softball falls to Fike

Emily Newsome belted a third-inning, solo home run during Eastern Wayne's 17-5, non-conference loss to Wilson Fike on Monday evening.
The Golden Demons swept the two-game, regular-season series.
Newsome, Tammariah Smith, Chloe Smith and Darian Beasley each had one hit for the Warriors. Emily Uzzell endured the pitching loss.
Eastern Wayne (0-3 overall) entertains Faith Christian of Goldsboro today. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
