ECBL: Trio of Aycock Orange hurlers combine for road shutout

KINSTON -- Jordan Gay, Zack Brewer and Cody Whitley combined for a three-hit shutout as Charles B. Aycock Orange handed Parrott Academy a 13-0, mercy-rule loss in Eastern Carolina Baseball League action Monday.
Gay allowed one hit, walked one and logged five strikeouts in two innings of work. He earned the mound win. Brewer tossed four innings of two-hit, six-strikeout relief. Whaley struck out the side in the seventh.
Gay contributed two hits, including a triple, and knocked in a run. Carson Smitherman, Blake Gipson, Caleb Matthews (two RBI), Tyler Daniels (RBI) and Seth Harrison (RBI) provided one hit apiece for CBA Orange.
Orange (1-0 overall) is the guest of Spring Creek today. First pitch is 6 p.m.
