ECBL: Eastern Wayne tops Greene Central in 8 innings

SNOW HILL -- Case Kermode stole three bases during Eastern Wayne's 8-4, eight-inning conquest of Eastern Carolina Baseball League foe Greene Central on Wednesday evening.
Cole Steiner, Brock Johnson, Jacob Buckley (two RBI) and Kermode provided two hits apiece. Jason Mitchell batted 1-for-2 with two RBI. Carlyle Smith also drove in a run.
Johnson and Steiner each had one stolen base.
Collin Nix emerged as the winning pitcher in relief of Johnson. Nix surrendered four runs (three earned) on 11 kills and posted three strikeouts in 51/3 innings. Johnson started and held the Rams hitless through 12/3 innings.
Nix threw 58 strikes in an 80-pitch outing.
Eastern Wayne is the guest of Wilson today. Game time is 6 p.m.
