ECBL: Pikeville Orange capitalizes on late SC errors

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Nolan Harrell batted 2-for-4 with three RBI as Pikeville Orange rallied past Spring Creek, 8-4, at "The Swamp" on Wednesday evening.
Cody Whaley doubled and scored a run in a 2-for-3 performance. Luke Frederick, Chandler Matthews, Blake Gipson (RBI), and Joey Hampton (RBI) supplied one hit apiece.
Jordan Gay and Carson Smitherman (RBI) also contributed to the Orange's offensive attack.
Caleb Matthews claimed the mound win. He limited the Gators to one run on four hits and logged two strikeouts in four innings. Cody Whaley hurled two innings of two-hit, three-strikeout relief.
Orange trailed 3-1 after five innings, but erupted for seven runs in the final two innings. The SC defense committed six fifth-inning errors.
Hunter Walker endured the mound loss for the Gators. Walker paced the Gators' offense with two hits. Kaden Geelen and Landon Smothers each had an RBI.
Pikeville Orange plays host to North Lenoir Green at Charles Davis Field today, while Spring Creek (3-3 overall) is the guest of Arendell-Parrott Academy.
