ECBL: Kornegay powers Aycock offense past Wilson Christian

PIKEVILLE -- Cameron Kornegay cranked out two doubles and drove in three runs during Charles B. Aycock's season-opening, 11-4 triumph over Wilson Christian in Eastern Carolina League Baseball play Monday evening.
Bradley Pate batted 3-for-3 with two RBI. Chandler Matthews stole four bases, scored three runs and added a hit.
Kyle Davis emerged as the winning pitcher. The right-hander permitted three unearned runs on four hits and retired six WC batters on strikeouts.
Aycock (1-0 overall) plays host to Wayne Country Day today. Game time is 6 p.m.
