BOLIVIA -- Mitchell Langston shot a team-low 89 and Charles B. Aycock concluded its season in the NCHSAA 3-A east regional contested at Carolina National Golf Club on Monday afternoon.
Battle Burnette (91), Matthew Ivey (93) and Cody Freels (99) accounted for the Golden Falcons' team score of 369. Alex Weaver and senior Ryan Morton also played on the challenging course that featured difficult pin placement on long greens.
"It was tough," CBA head coach David Elmore said of the Fred Couples-designed layout. "There were a lot of triple-digit scores out there today from all 11 teams. Going into today, I felt like we had a chance to qualify for states.
"I feel our year went great overall."
Eastern Wayne's Willis Underwood posted a 92.
Three Southern Wayne players -- Jon Barrow (94), Jon Langston (100) an Lucas McKay (110) -- battled for 18 holes.
