Eagles explode early, tied for Carolina 1A baseball lead

Carolina 1-A Conference co-leader Rosewood scored 12 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 26-3, mercy-rule triumph over Neuse Charter on Tuesday.
Tanner Bradley, Bryce McKeel and Daniel Herring (four RBI) each had three hits for Rosewood, which had 19 hits as a team.
Herring and Anthony McKinney combined to give up six hits and three earned runs. McKinney struck out two in relief. Herring struck out six and got the win.
Rosewood entertains archrival Princeton today at 6:45 p.m.
