Saints' softball team earns road shutout over J.H. Rose

GREENVILLE -- Southern Wayne scored its second straight mercy-rule win with a 10-0 triumph over Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A foe J.H. Rose Tuesday evening.
Kelsey Hayes led the Saints' offense with four hits and two RBI. Hope Jones added three hits. Haley Brogden, Katie Anderson (two RBI) and Keaton Bradley each had two hits.
Haley Warren turned in a two-hit, seven-strikeout performance inside the pitcher's circle.
Southern Wayne (8-10 overall, 5-6 ECC) finishes regular-season play today at South Central.
