HAZEL POTTER SHIVAR

Hazel Potter Shivar, 92, Seven Springs, quietly and peacefully passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018.
Hazel was born May 16, 1926, in Wayne County to the late Laney H. Potter and Minnie Adams Potter.
Hazel was a longtime member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and has served on the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee.
Hazel was a retired cosmetologist.
A service to celebrate Hazel’s life will be Sunday, Aug. 5, at 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery.
A loving mother and grandmother, Hazel is survived by two sons, Vernon Shivar and wife, Sheila and Glenn Shivar and wife, Rena; two grandchildren, Amy Leigh Shivar and Dustin Glenn Shivar, and wife, Kirsten; sister, Genny Crumpler; and a niece, Jodi Head.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by a niece, Pamela Jo Adams; and great-nephew, Joshuriah Gensen Adams.
Family and friends will be received Sunday following the service.
