JACK W. SUTTON

Jack Winfred Sutton, 84, died Friday morning at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Born in Lenior County, he was the son of the late William I and Belle Newsome Sutton.
Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Outlaw Sutton, he was retired with the United States Army as a sergeant major, serving 32 years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a,m, in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ray Smeltzer officiating. Entombment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Family members will greet friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, James W. and Teresa Sutton of Greenville and Joseph L. Sutton of Goldsboro; two brothers, Lynwood Sutton and Rufus Sutton; two sisters, Polly Teel and Shelby Lee; and three grandchildren, Jacob Rose, Kacey Rose and Nicholas Sutton.
