Pearl Harrison Barrow was called home Wednesday, July 11, 2018, to the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Lord at the age of 99.

Pearl was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Greene County to the late Bunyan and Etta Pearl Mooring Harrison.

She graduated from Snow Hill High School in 1936.

Later that year, Dec. 19, Pearl married the love of her life, Ottis Poe Barrow.

Pearl was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life.

She worked as an Avon representative for almost 36 years, providing excellent service to those she called upon. She earned top sales awards and became a member of the president’s club.

Pearl was a longtime member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church in Goldsboro, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also served as the financial secretary for the church for 14 years.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Robert Bandy and the Rev. Alex Parker officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Pearl is survived by her son, Donald N. Barrow of Milford, Del.; daughters, Ramona Barrow Mitchell and husband, Jim, of Goldsboro and Madge Barrow Hicks and husband, Bill, of Raleigh; brother, Ellsworth Harrison and wife, Betty, of LaGrange; grandchildren, Clint Mitchell, Marla Grady, Dona Troyer, Kasey Hudock, Scarlett Stowe, Renee Taylor and Bridgett Murphy; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ottis Poe Barrow, and sisters, Ruby Ipock, Christine Kearney and Margaret Newton.
