MATTIE FRANCES 'FRANKIE' PARSONS CHRISTIAN

Mattie Frances “Frankie” Parsons Christian, 82, Pikeville, completed her journey home Tuesday, May 29, 2018, to the welcoming words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Frankie was born in Olinger, Va., Feb. 19, 1936, to the late Robie Edgar Parsons and Allie Macie Gibson Parsons.

She retired after 20 years of service from the United States Air Force Commissary System.

Frankie was a member of Pineview Baptist Church.

Frankie was the rock of her family; her husband and sons knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.

She traveled overseas and lived with her family in Japan for three years and in Germany for four years.

Frankie has also lived as a military wife and family throughout the United States, including Virginia, Texas, California, Tennessee and North Carolina.

She will be remembered for the love and laughter that she shared during her well-lived life.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 2, 2018, at Seymour Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a service to celebrate Frankie’s life at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with pastor Mike Willard officiating. Entombment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

Frankie is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Allen Christian; son, Edward (Eddie) Nathan Christian and wife, Debra Gurley, of Goldsboro; son, Bobby Allen Christian of Fuquay-Varina; granddaughter, Ashley Brooke Christian Phillips and husband, Scott, of Rosewood; grandson, Dustin Allen Christian of Fuquay-Varina; and great-grandsons, Caleb Bruey, Ashton Bruey and Conner Christian.

She is also survived by her brothers, Robie Edgar Parsons Jr. of Olinger, Va., Johnny Parsons and wife, Linda, of Kingsport, Tenn., and Leonard Harold Parsons and wife, Lennie, of Church Hill, Tenn.; and sisters, Maggie Thelma Castle of Kingsport, Tenn., Mary Ruth Copeland and husband, Ron, of Hiltons, Va., Sally Nadine Simpson of Olinger, Va., Mable Jerie Hayman and husband, Terry, of Kingsport, Tenn., and Joyce McMahan and husband, Gale, of East Stone Gap, Va.
