Virginia Walker Howard Layden, 72, LaGrange, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
She was born June 12, 1944, in Lenoir County to the late Clyde Herring and Maggie Thompson Walker.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Layden, and two sons.
Visitation will follow the service and at other times, the family will be at the home of Cotton Howard, 1429 Jonestown Road, Pink Hill.
Arrangements are by Rouse Funeral Home of LaGrange.
