William Kenneth Meeks Jr., 68, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Duke Medical Center in Durham.
Mr. Meeks was born in Aiken, S.C., Sept. 12, 1947. He was the son of the late Lora Missy Sapp Bell and William K. Meeks Sr. and stepmother, Dee of Islamorada, Fla.
He proudly served our country in the United States Navy.
Mr. Meeks retired from sales in the automobile industry.
Services will be held at a later date in Islamorada, Fla.
Mr. Meeks is survived by his wife, Claudia Carawan Meeks; son, William W. Meeks and wife, Renee, of Lakewood, Ohio; his grandson, Logan William Meeks; sisters, Beverly Meeks of Osteen, Fla., and Susan Cline and husband, Brian, of Casselberry, Fla.; and niece, Laura Poloski and husband, Jason, and their son, Reed of Geneva, Fla.
He is also survived by his special canine companion, Molly.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Duke Heart Center, Attn: Heart Center, 710 W. Main St., Suite 200, Durham, N.C., 27701.
