Eleanor Place Holloway, 92, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Eleanor was born in Providence, R.I., March 5, 1923, to the late Charles Henry Place and Kathleen McDermott Place. She was married to the late Ernest H. "Mike" Holloway.
Eleanor was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will always be loved by her children, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
A service celebrating Eleanor's life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with hospice chaplain Mark Palmer officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service at Seymour Funeral Home.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Kathleen "Kam" Gay and husband, Robert, of Goldsboro and Margaret Rowland of Raleigh; son, Dennis Mashburn and wife, Donna, of Raleigh; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Guy Eugene Mashburn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or the American Cancer Society, 930B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
